As one of the UK's leading suppliers of LPG conversions, we have been running our own UKLPG approved training course for 10 years.
The four-day course is delivered by our highly qualified technical director Edward Davies, one of the UK's leading experts in LPG conversions, at our headquarters on Croescarneinion Farm, Rhiwderin, near Newport in South Wales. The cost is £1,750 plus VAT and includes all parts for the conversion.
What does the training consist of?
The course is primarily designed for people seeking to develop their own LPG installation business. It has evolved to keep pace with the vast improvement in technology used in current LPG systems and covers all aspects of a LPG installation from theory through to practise.
Participants benefit from spending time with our experienced engineers who have the highest technical knowledge in the LPG industry in the UK, achieved through our commitment to provide our customers with on-going technical support.
To take the course, you will need to bring a vehicle with you for the LPG installation. We will provide the mintXI, Ultra-Gas or Romano system and all other necessary components.
The course theory has been designed by our technical director Edward Davies and is aimed at providing the course member with a good level of understanding of:
- LPG - the structure, elements and behaviour;
- LPG vehicle system developments and latest technology (including systems for older vehicles);
- Gas safety and general health and safety in the workshop;
- UKLPG Code of Practice 11 & BS Autogas Installations (BS12979:2002)
You will be using high quality components imported by mintLPG, but the course is generic and centred on the industry standard as set out in UKLPG Code of Practice 11. The theory part is delivered on the first day during which time there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to handle all the components used for LPG vehicle installations.
The next three days are spent in our workshop fitting the LPG system and components to your vehicle under the expert guidance of our engineers.
Once the vehicle installation is complete, tested and calibrated you will sit a written multiple choice examination.
On successful completion of the practical installation and examination, participants will receive a Certificate of Competence in LPG conversions and will be able to carry out installations. This is the first step to becoming a UKLPG Approved Installer.
